- Aromatherapy is an ancient art which includes the use of essential oils and massage. Essential oils have been used in room infusions, inhalations, baths and compresses – in fact they have many uses and benefits.
- The massage used is a relaxing, deep, soothing and very luxurious massage. It concentrates on lymphatic drainage movements which assist the elimination of toxins in the body. It improves health and unblocks the lymphatic circulation which is important to well-being. Toxins and poor circulation can result in disease.
- The massage used is not like Swedish massage or Sports massage which concentrate on brisk, pummelling and petrissage movements in order to improve muscle tone and disperse adipose tissue.
- The aromatherapy massage uses essential oils which are extracted from plants. These oils are the ‘life-force’ of the plant and they contain many healing properties. They are anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and anti-viral. The Aromatherapist will have a full consultation with the client and from these discussions, the necessary oils will be carefully selected and blended according for each individual client. Essential oils must always be mixed in a vegetable carrier oil for the massage.
- The benefits achieved from Aromatherapy are many. Minor and more serious ailments can benefit greatly from the application of essential oils. Conditions varying form sinus congestion to skin and digestive problems can all benefit form treatment with essential oils.
